Food was amazing, service was lacking. We went early around 5:30, and ordered some appetizers after waiting a bit to be sat(no host, no server, no manager, just a bartender- we were sat by the guy setting up the music set) They apps arrived and 5 min later so did the meal. I would have preferred a bit of customer service to stagger the arrival of the food and more attentiveness to us. However, they can make some good dang food!

Not a good first experience… probably the last experience here. We were greeted to a very sweet hostess tonight… but everything after that was downhill. Our waitress was very rude…listening to how she talked to us and how she talked to the people behind us and if you asked her anything she didn’t know. Our order took forever, there was only one other table sat besides us. I ordered the roast chicken and dumplings, the. Dumplings were excellent…for the 5 quarter size dumplings that were on the plate..THE CHICKEN HOWEVER WAS THE ABSOLUTE WORST THAT I HAVE EVER HAD in a restaurant…. It definitely WAS NOT fresh, it had been previously cooked and refrigerated and then reheated… possibly in a microwave but it had that god awful reheated 2 day old chicken taste plus it was totally dried out…definitely not worth $31!!!! I can get better and super fresh chicken elsewhere for less than half the price! This establishment should be absolutely ashamed of themselves!! I like to try local and usually it’s a good experience…but not here. When it came time for the bill….after we had received our to go boxes….it was a half hour before our waitress returned with our checks!! Not acceptable at al

Our first night in Sarasota- visiting from Boston and Portland Me. We were greeted by Evan who was so warm and friendly. We were seated and our waitress/ bartender - Erica and we couldn’t have been more pleased. She helped us with menu selections and again super friendly and comfortable with all of us. We had cosmopolitans, a spicy cocktail and a handcrafted white sangria which was delicious!!! She even went out of her way to make a non- alcoholic drink for my mom. For appetizers we had the Brussel sprouts/ cauliflower and the deconstructed crab ragoons which were amazing- the biscuits were crispy on the outside and light inside. Would recommend. We had the mama shrimp fried rice which was a huge hit!!!! Really cool presentation and really fresh and delicious. The pork chop dinner was a close second. We had the braised short rib with grits- it was good but the rib could have been a bit more tender. For dessert we had the passion fruit cheesecake and an amazing banana bread pudding. We met the chefs Mark and I cannot remember his name- both very humble and super friendly. Amazing and I would highly recommend!!!! Will definitely come back!

Fork and Hen is absolutely my favorite restaurant in the Sarasota/Bradenton area! I’m a big time foodie who moved from Canada four years ago and while I don’t miss the weather, I do miss the vibrant food scene Toronto has to offer. Fork and Hen scratches that itch every single time without fail! From the insane flavor profiles to the gorgeous presentation - it’s all mouth wateringly delicious! I do miss their smaller, more cozy/intimate location but understand why they moved to a bigger spot. Either way, this is my top recommended restaurant on the Gulf Coast!
